“Vitamin D3 + Vitamin K2 = A Healthier You!" – Dr. B
Vitamin D has gotten a great deal of media attention recently. It seems like nearly every week, another study is released showing its health-promoting properties. Vitamin D is naturally produced by your body as a result of sun exposure; it is also routinely added to milk. Along with calcium, Vitamin D helps to build bones, but supporting healthy bone growth is just the beginning. Vitamin D is thought to play a major role in cardiovascular disease, immune function, and possibly cancer prevention. Many of us are deficient in Vitamin D!
Our D35000+K, is designed to improve the effectiveness of Vitamin D by combining it with natural Vitamin K2 as menaquinone-7 (MK-7), a highly bioavailable and bioactive form of K2. The Vitamin K acts a cofactor for Vitamin D3, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), the identical form in which vitamin D is derived in the body from cholesterol and synthesized by sunlight on the skin. Certain proteins are responsible for bone formation, particularly one called osteocalcin. Vitamin D is necessary for the body to make osteocalcin, but Vitamin K is needed to activate the protein so it can bind to minerals and start building bone. This may help prevent osteoporosis. By activating bone mineralization proteins, Vitamin K also helps ensure that calcium in the body is used to build bones instead of being deposited into arteries. Calcified arteries are a bad thing; vascular calcification is known to contribute to atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease.
